Will vs. Blade Liger D-Style

I've built the Blade Liger D-Style from Takara Tomy designed by Kotobukiya. I dare you to say that name five times within three seconds. This is a super deformed style Liger Zero. You could say it's the Blade Liger Kitty.

The kit contains five plates, two flexible plates, a small figure, a manual, and an order form if you suddenly had some kids over and they have knives on their fingers. The kit does not contain stickers or decals and maybe you just don't need it at all.

The only problem I have in this kit is that this particular connection over here is as thick as the part. So it would look like you have to cut this out straight and true. Otherwise it's the same with other kits with nub marks which you can hide with paint which we will do in the next post about this.

Look at that face. The mouth is articulate and as you can see, if you want a very accurate color, you have to paint the side grills white in some parts. The cockpit can be opened and the small figure in the kit can be fitted inside snugly. There is a part in the back of the head that can be swiveled up and down.

The body has an articulate neck and tail. Again there is a need for white paint in the blue part at the tail. The blades can be popped out and pegged in to provide that side blade thing all Blade Ligers have. There are also cannons under the breast and some thrusters on the back with the blue plate capable of opening. This kit will not have that blue and white additional thrusters that also doubles as gun. But again this is a kitty.

The legs have only two points of articulations. It is in the joints between the legs and body, and the feet. There could be a problem with the forelegs when the blades are extended. It will not have the same level of articulation as before but that's okay I guess. The figure included needs painting and funny thing about it is that the eyes and mouth are just holes. Anyways it's a tiny figure so that's all the details it can have I guess.

There's a peg hole in the bottom if you've got an extra stand lying around. No problems around here but the real gem of the figure is from posing it in various kitten poses.

Run little kitty run! This figure can also stand on it's own with it's hind legs. This will look great with a little bit of paint job and some paneling. It is a great kit and would be a great addition on your Zoids collections or just your kitty-based collection. The Blade Liger D-Style is available from your toy retailers around 1440 yen or 633 pesetas.
